Following graduation from the University of Queensland, Loretta spent her resident and basic physician training years in Toowoomba. It was this experience that influenced her decision to pursue a career in cardiology and return to Toowoomba.
She undertook advanced training in cardiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s and the Princess Alexandra Hospitals. Following this, she joined Hearts 1st to complete a two-year echocardiography and cardiac imaging fellowship.
Loretta’s specialised training in multi-modality cardiovascular imaging encompasses transthoracic echo, transoesophageal echo, exercise stress echo and dobutamine stress echo as well as cardiovascular CT and cardiac MRI.
